You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work.
Perform your duty equipoised, abandoning all attachment to success or failure. Such equanimity is called Yoga.
The mind is restless, turbulent, obstinate and very strong. To subdue it is more difficult than controlling the wind, but it is possible by constant practice and detachment.
One must elevate, not degrade, oneself by one's own mind. The mind alone is the friend of the soul, and the mind alone is the enemy of the soul.
Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness, at that time I manifest myself on earth.
To those who worship Me with devotion, meditating on My transcendental form, I carry what they lack and preserve what they have.

The contacts of the senses with their objects, which produce heat and cold, pleasure and pain, come and go and are impermanent. Endure them bravely.
We praise that Shankara, the source of the glorious wheel of powers, by whose opening and closing of the eyes the dissolution and emergence of the world takes place.
One who perceives that Spanda as his own nature in the role of the presiding deity, and remains as if smiling in wonder - how can there be any misfortune for him?
When extremely angry or overjoyed, or wondering 'What shall I do?', or when running - whatever state one reaches, there Spanda is established.
Then one's own nature, whose essence is light and bliss, and which is the power of the great mantra, arises. Then one is called Shiva.
